I wish more people would consider steriods effects not just on their own bodies, but on their images as someone watched by millions (including my kids). I remember well the article that Rick Reilly wrote in Sports Illustrated after the Congressional Hearings. Mark McGuire was damned for failing to deny his usage (and wanting to focus on the future). Rafael Palmeiro was heaped with praise for his adamant denials. So anxious were we to have it be so (that baseball not be tainted) that our national writers heaped praise on the best liars, and chastised those who would not lie about it.
