I love your c...Sully, I have to disagree with you. I love your columns, I usually agree, not this go round. Even if they make the playoffs and stave off one of the worst September collapses in MLB history, they look to face either Texas or Detroit on the road. Further, I had to scratch my head to think of a team that had such a bad September and still won it all, I came up with the 2000 Yankees (and the Red Sox could win every game from now until the end of the season and still wouldn't have as "good" a September as those Yankees did (they were 13-18 from September 1-October 1.) Point is, it doesn't happen often, for two reasons:<br /><br />1) Teams that do this bad don't make the playoffs (only MLB team worse than BOS in Sep. is MIN; they are about to go home and have been for the last 2 months,)<br /><br />2) Teams that do this bad and make the playoffs tend not to stay long. <br /><br />I don't pretend to know the future, but even being up in the standings, it can be tough to stomach 5-19 in the face (if they lose both games,) and being tied with TB (if TB wins today.)<br /><br />Again, love your blog.
