And thus ends any Hall of Fame consideration for Trevor Hoffman
I never want to hear the words "Hall of Fame" and "Trevor Hoffman" in the same sentence.
Hall of Fame closers don't blow 2 games that could clinch a playoff spot in 3 days.
Hall of Fame closers slam the door on titles, not let his team down after a brilliant 13 inning game where the Padres bullpen had icewater in their veins.
And it wasn't like the Rockies got a few bloop hits... they were smoking the ball so hard that I wondered in the Padres had acquired Armando Benitez.
If you want to get into the Hall of Fame, admission is $14.50.
Hoffman belongs in the Hall -- the Hall of LAME.
ReplyDeleteHe's been blowing big saves his whole career.
