Teixeira isn't coming to Boston? Why am I not panicking?

Seriously... this is supposed to be devastating, right?

But for some reason I'm not devastated.
Maybe I'm thinking if the Red Sox spend a lot of money, I'd rather it be on pitching.
Maybe I'm thinking a hitter is easier to pick up than an arm.
Maybe I'm thinking I would rather see the Sox spend that money of 2 pitchers rather than one first baseman, no matter how good a hitter he is.
Maybe I like the Red Sox keeping their draft picks
Maybe I'm mellowed from the two World Series titles this decade.
Maybe I'm amazed by the way you love me all the time.

But all I know is I'm not devastated.

I am a Red Sox fan but will stop being one if they do not do something this winter. They need to sign Teixeira. If they do not they will be battling they Blue Jays for 3rd place this year. I guarantee it.

Exactly! Stupid fairweather fans and their New Era fashion "B" hats. Besides, I would feel too bad for Lowell being shipped off like that after he spilled his blood and guts on the field for the team and fans last year.

I hate sox fans like that. "Oh the sox have to do something or I'm gonna go root for the MFYankees."
Go home we don't want you at Fenway anyways! Let a real fan have your seat.

Boy you are a real fan. If they win or lose that ok. You suck. Never said I would vote for yanks you freaking idiot. Been fan for more yrs then you have been alive so not bandwagon you dumbass. By the way, Lowell sucks just like you who posted that about him being so tough last yr. He can not hit his way out of a paper bag. You guys all do not know anything about baseball so shut the hell up you asswipes.

Okay, Youk/Tex is probably an upgrade over Lowell/Youk, but to say Lowell sucks and cannot hit his way out of a paper bag is the height of baseball ignorance. Over his career, his statistics for a 162 game season work out to .279 BA, 80 Runs, 23 HRs, and 98 RBIs. He may not be an elite hitter, but Lowell has no problem hitting his way out of a paper bag, you idiot. Oh, and Gold Glove defense too!

Third place banners? The Yankees will disappoint next year, just like the tigers did this season. I would prefer the sox get Peavy over Texeira. All Yankee fans are douche bags. This is the part where you remind everyone about your 26 world championships. How's the 21st century treating you retards? Arod is gay and never hits when it matters(The anti-Big Papi), Jeter is completely overrated(No range), Cano bats .200 the first two months of every season, Damon is old and destined for the DL, Melky can't hit, your catcher is 38, CC with his 500 innings in 2 years and 700 in 3, will fall apart, AJ "DL" Burnett is always hurt....well at least you have Nick Swisher(Pardon me...LOL). It is the Yanks who will need the 3rd place banner.

The only park Peavy has pitched well at is Petco. He would get lit up in the American League. Heck he gets lit up when he's not pitching at home in San Diego. The sox should get him. I'm going to enjoy watching Manny light him and the rest of that 3rd place pitching staff this season when Manny's making 25 mil a year for the Yanks. Hey sox fans ,Get your neck braces out Cause your going to be watching the yanks hit homer after homer this year. LOL! or should i say RIP!

You can say it's "easier to get a hitter than a pitcher" but it's really not true, it's just something people say. And on that note, pitching doesn't win, balance wins.

Sox dont need a 1B, they need a SS and C. Tex is a luxury, yanks signings are out of desperation; they don't have the home grown players the sox do. As for 3rd well the Rays will fall apart like the Marlin and the Rockies did after thier dream runs. Sox will come first or second with yanks on the wild card but yanks just signed another set of injuries to add to thier ouchy ouchy bullpen.Sox take the east no doubt no matter how Tex pans out
