The loser from Josh Hamilton's 4 homer night

Josh Hamilton became the 16th player to hit 4 homers in one game.

Yeah, the Orioles lost the game but there is a bigger loser tonight.
You know somewhere in the world there was someone who forgot to put Hamilton in their starting line up for their fantasy team.

Or worse yet, someone thinking they would be cute and say "I am putting Hamilton on the bench. I have a hunch he is going to have an 0 fer tonight."

Where those two schmucks are, they lost a 5-5 performance with 4 runs scored, 4 homers and 8 runs batted in.

I don't care what rules your league uses and what stats make up the points.
I am guessing you could use those numbers for one night.

 

I really hope you do NOT have Vin Mazzaro on your fantasy team

If you DO have Vin Mazzaro on your fantasy team, I hope you benched him for tonight's game against Cleveland.

He let up 14 runs in 2 1/3 innings against the Indians.
You'd think that after 12, they would have someone warming up.

Either way, that is the kind of outing that could mess up your head to head stats.
Just saying.

LaRussa puts Pujols at third... all of Fantasy Baseball rejoices

Seriously, if you have Albert Pujols on your fantasy team then you are already winning.
Now imagine if you have Pujols as your first baseman and someone like Chris Johnson as your third baseman.

Well now you can dump Johnson, find some other good first baseman on the trash heap and slip Pujols into the third baseman slot.

Not only is that cool but I am convinced this is the first ever blog post in history where the only names mentioned were Albert Pujols and Chris Johnson.

Fantasy Owners... buy Chien-Ming Wang

I don't do Fantasy Baseball anymore. It is too time consuming and I am going to be spending lots of time on the internet looking up baseball things, it will be for my latest 25 man roster.

But I do offer this tip... buy Wang!

Chad Jennings at the LoHud Yankees Blog writes that the Cardinals are kicking the tires on Chien-Ming Wang.

Chad has no reason to lie to us.

This is great news for Cardinals fans. Wang is obviously talented and he's had a downfall for two seasons because of injury.

Enter pitching coach Dave Duncan.

Dave Duncan is a miracle worker. She is the Annie Sullivan to scores of Helen Kellers.

Joel Pinero? Chris Carpenter? Ryan Franklin? Kyle Loshe?
All turned things around under Duncan and that's just off the top of my head.

Wang will be cheap... and he'll win 15 games with an ERA under 3.50. You heard it here first.

I hope someone has Ross Gload on their fantasy team

Gload lived out that backyard whiffle ball scenario for real today...

A pinch hit 2 run homer to win the game in the bottom of the 9th.

And because he did it in Florida, it happened in front of only friends and family in Landshark Stadium.

The Marlins are only a few games out and can be that streaky team that can rattle off a bunch of wins.

But if you have Gload on your team and activated him tonight, be sure to remind everyone in your league that you are a genius.

(Are we REALLY calling it Landshark Stadium?)
