About a month ago, the A's beat up a bunch of lousy teams to get above .500.
It was a nice story but they were about to go on a 25 game stretch that would certainly sink their season.
They had to face the Rangers, Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays, Orioles, Angels and White Sox. There would be no way they could survive that gauntlet.
But as I wrote in Bleacher Report, they not only survived it but emerged on the other side as legitimate contenders.
