Johnny Podres was a Padre?
How did I not know that before tonight?
He was a member of the 1969 Padres.... their first season. And I am convinced the GM signed him for the Abbott and Costello esque confusion of "Who's pitching for the Padres?" "Podres." that must have happened that year.
It's a tragedy that Billy Brewer never played for Milwaukee.
Never knew that, I had to have that card, I think it was in my Bicycle Spoke, But the best cards in the Spokes was those Jerry Koosman Rookie Cards with some other guy named Nolan Ryan (Whatever happened to him)?

ReplyDeleteIn the NFL, Ken Houston played for the Oilers and Joe Washington played for the Redskins. It happens every once in a while.
