You KNOW Manny Ramirez is going to the Mets

It's the perfect fit!
He's old.
He's broken down.
He is carrying more baggage than Kate Winslet entering the Titanic.
He is a shell of his former self.
And he will disrupt the clubhouse.

Sounds like a Met to me!
I say they offer him 4 years guaranteed.

  1. And you forgot another obvious appeal to the Mets: He's a former Yankee nemesis!

Of course, that only works in the opposite direction: Joe Torre, David Cone, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden. (I'll spare you the 2 '86 Red Sox, because that really doesn't apply in this case.)

The problem with measuring yourself only against your arch-rival is that you end up looking like Tottenham Hotspur. How's that club working out for Bill Simmons, by the way?

I just wish he'd stay away...
Maybe he should pick a different sport to irritate. Like golf.

  3. Nah, San Francisco will outbid anyone since he's right in the Giants' preferred age range. They'll put him in at short, between Miguel Tejada and Aubrey Huff.
