Wow... a packed house in Tampa Bay for a playoff game!
PLENTY of those tickets had to be free. Yesterday evening I went to ticketmaster to see if Rays had sold out. Not even close. A pair 10 rows behind home plate available. But those were over $300, so to give them the benefit of the high prices, I threw those back and checked other sections. A pair 11 rows off 1B available ($100 tickets). I don't know what criteria the Rays are using to determine "sellout" but clearly they had to give tickets away to fill that park. Really, they gotta move that team. That's unacceptable.
Checked the games when the series moves to Texas. Nothing available, even singles. So it's not all the economy.
