Baseball Boogie - the 1980s were a different time
Dear lord.
Obviously still traumatized by Ozzie Smith and Jack Clark's homers in the 1985 NLCS, the 1986 Dodgers created this music video.
They were clearly trying to capitalize on the 1985 Bears' Super Bowl Shuffle (which itself aged like milk.)
But at least the Bears went on to WIN the Super Bowl.
The storied 1986 Dodgers went 73-89.
Keep in mind this was the clubhouse that the tough as nails Kirk Gibson walked into in 1988.
I wonder if they were still wearing those shiny pastel jackets.

That's so gay I thought it was the Mets
ReplyDeleteI thought UL's toothpick bugged the announcers more than anyone.
ReplyDeleteAnyway Sully, when is the all time Mets/Mets coming so I can really argue? I'll never forget Claudell Washington growing those mammoth muscles over one offseason so he could become a power hitter. Didn't help and the steroids will likely kill him if he's not already dead. I don't know what made me think of him but he flashed thru my mind as I thought about old Met teams of which he only played one season for.
The above comment was supposed to be under the KC Royals all time teams. Something went hayware (as apposed to haywire).
ReplyDeleteOK Sully, I found the glitch where I overshot the comments section for the KC Royal teams. Also, I found the Mets all time so forget about that comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
